Curriculum Editing WTF #367
"Tell your students to imagine they were led blindfolded to a very large building."

(This, coupled with the imaginary placement of their nose on the side of this theoretical building, apparently helps kids visualize why the Earth looks flat even though it's round. And so, with that vaguely disturbing sentiment, the Astronomy Unit That Would Not Die is back.)

Didn't they used to play games like that at school? Blindfold you and lead you places? Like the "trust the kid behind you to catch you" game...

The nose-wall thingie requires set-up, and I can't imagine any point in making it a thought experiment. It needs to be experienced.

Stop me if you already knew this. You need an east-west wall in an elevated position, so that your victims can see the horizon in their peripheral vision. Best chance is in the Summer. Then if all goes well, they will actually feel the Earth rotate as the Sun rises. This from Buckminster Fuller, I think.
